Thalapathy Vijay has joined hands with renowned filmmaker Venkat Prabhu, for his 68th outing in films. The project, which is touted to be a science-fiction drama, has been tentatively titled Thalapathy 68. The filming of the much-awaited project began in October 2023. As per the latest updates, the foreign schedule of the Thalapathy Vijay’s film is now nearing its completion. Sources close to the project have also dropped a major update on the next schedule shooting of the film.
Thalapathy 68 shoot to begin in Chennai on THIS date
The latest reports suggest that the makers of Thalapathy 68 are planning to kickstart the next schedule filming of the sci-fi film in Chennai. If the latest reports are to be believed, the cast and crew of the Thalapathy Vijay-starrer are planning to begin the shooting of the film on January 3, 2024. Even though the Thalapathy 68 team has not responded to the reports yet, an official announcement on the same is expected to be out very soon.
Thalapathy 68 release date to be announced with first look?
As reported earlier, the official title and the first look of the Thalapathy Vijay-starrer are expected to be revealed on New Year's Eve or on the evening of January 1, 2024. However, the latest reports suggest that the team is also planning to reveal the much-awaited release date of the untitled project, along with the title and first-look updates. According to the grapevine, Thalapathy 68 will get a grand theatrical release by the second half of 2024.

All about Thalapathy 68
Thalapathy Vijay is appearing in multiple roles in the Venkat Prabhu directorial, which is rumoured to be an adaptation of Will Smith-starrer Gemini Man. Interestingly, one of the characters played by the popular star is a 19-year-old young man. The makers are spending over Rs 6 crore for the de-aging technology used in the film.
The sci-fi movie features a stellar star cast, including Prashanth, Prabhu Deva, Sneha, Laila, Mohan, Meenakshi Chaudhary, Jayaram, Yogi Babu, VTV Ganesh, Vaibhav, Aravind Akash, Ajmal Ameer, and others in supporting roles. Yuvan Shankar Raja composed the songs and the original score. Siddhartha Nuni is the director of photography. The project is bankrolled by the popular banner, AGS Entertainment.
