The Greatest Of All Time, the action thriller which features Thalapathy Vijay in the lead role, is gearing up for its grand theatrical release on September 5, 2024. The movie, written and directed by Venkat Prabhu, has garnered the attention of cinephiles with its highly promising trailer and songs. As you may know, Thalapathy Vijay is playing a double role in The GOAT, as a highly skilled spy, and his son. In a recent interview, director Venkat Prabhu opened up about the actor’s roles in the film.
Thalapathy Vijay’s roles in The Greatest Of All Time revealed
In a recent chat with a leading Tamil media, director Venkat Prabhu extensively spoke about leading man Thalapathy Vijay’s roles in The GOAT. Interestingly, one of the characters played by Tamil cinema’s biggest crowd-puller in the film is named ‘Gandhi’. He is a highly skilled spy, who serves the Special Anti-Terrorist Squad aka SATS, an imaginary special wing of RAW, based in Chennai. Gandhi is a mature, silent, and soft-spoken man, much like Vijay’s real-life persona.

The second character played by Thalapathy Vijay is said to be the son of Gandhi and is named Jeevan. According to director Venkat Prabhu, Jeevan is the exact opposite of the first character played by Vijay in the film. Unlike Gandhi, Jeevan is very hyper and energetic. In one of his earlier interviews, the filmmaker mentioned that the younger character played by Vijay has a well-defined comic track. However, most of those scenes were chopped off from the film, to fit it into the feature film duration. But those scenes will be added in The GOAT director’s cut, which will have its OTT release on Netflix.

Sneha is appearing in the role of Gandhi’s wife in The Greatest Of All Time. Meenakshi Chaudhary, on the other hand, appears as Jeevan’s love interest. Mohan, Prashanth, Prabhu Deva, Jayaram, Yogi Babu, Laila, Premgi Amaren, Vaibhav, Ajmal Ameer, Aravind Akash, Parvati Nair, VTV Ganesh, Ganja Karuppu, and others essay the supporting roles in The GOAT. Yuvan Shankar Raja composes the music score. Siddhartha Nuni is the director of photography. Venkat Raajen handles the editing. The Thalapathy Vijay starrer is bankrolled by AGS Entertainment.
