Tamil superstar Thalapathy Vijay, is all set to break new records with his upcoming movie, Leo. The latest buzz is that the movie's theatrical rights in Karnataka alone have been sold for a whopping Rs 11 crore, marking a new milestone in Vijay's career.

Besides Tamil Nadu, Vijay, who enjoys a massive fan following in Karnataka, Kerala and the Telugu states, is set to make a splash with Leo. The movie is also expected to expand Vijay's fan base in the Hindi-speaking belt . Industry insiders believe that the movie's non-theatrical revenues could set new benchmarks for Tamil cinema, given the high expectations surrounding the project.

Earlier reports had indicated that Leo could rake in around Rs 400 crore in non-theatrical revenues , making it one of the most highly anticipated movies of the year.

Leo boasts of an impressive ensemble cast that includes Trisha, Sanjay Dutt, Arjun, Priya Anand, Mysskin, Gautham Vasudev Menon, Mansoor Ali Khan, Sandy Master, and Mathew Thomas among others. In addition, Lokesh Kanagaraj, the director, has also brought in some renowned YouTubers for cameo appearances.

Produced on a grand scale, the film promises to be a treat for fans, expanding the cinematic universe of drug lords and heroic spies created by Lokesh. This marks the second collaboration between Vijay and Lokesh after the blockbuster hit Master. Lokesh has described Leo as a "100 per cent Lokesh movie", indicating that he has had the freedom to create the film he wants after the success of Vikram, starring Kamal Haasan.

Lokesh has promised that Leo will be an action-packed extravaganza, but he remains tight-lipped about whether it will be part of his cinematic universe. With its star-studded cast, impressive visuals, and the director's previous track record, Leo is poised to set the box office on fire.

Leo is due in cinemas on October 19.
