The much-awaited first update about Thalapathy67 is here! Seven Screen Studio today announced that they will be collaborating with Vijay for the third time, after Master and Varisu. The production house dropped a statement, which also had the details about the crew. While the film is helmed by Lokesh Kanagaraj, Anirudh Ravichander will be scoring the music. Manoj Paramhamsa will be handling the cinematography and editing will be by Philomin Raj. Anbariv will handle the stunt choreography and Dinesh, the dance sequences. The statement also revealed that further details will be announced soon.
Ever since Vijay's Varisu hit screens on January 11 and Lokesh Kanagaraj began work on his next project, which is tentatively being referred to as Thalapathy67, fans of the actor have been bombarding the team asking for an update. Lokesh Kanagaraj had then revealed at an interaction with the press in Coimbatore recently that fans can expect an update in a span of ten days.
In the meantime, speculations are rife about the cast and crew of the team. There has been a buzz that Sanjay Dutt will play the prime antagonist in the film and that Trisha will be playing the leading lady. There have also been rumours and social media buzz about Suriya returning to Lokesh Cinematic Universe as his popular character Rolex and that Pathu Thala star Silambarasan TR might be a part of it as well. Thalapathy67 is bankrolled by 7Screen Studio and the shoot has already begun. Certain portions comprising Mysskin and Mansoor Ali Khan were recently canned in Kodaikanal. Trisha will be teaming up with Vijay after a span of 14 long years and fans are excited to see the hit onscreen pair of the 2000s back.
Thalapathy67 marks the comeback of the hit duo Vijay and Lokesh Kanagaraj after their previous collaboration, Master. Vijay played JD, an alcoholic professor, who is assigned to teach children at a juvenile home where he encounters a dreaded drug mafia headed by Bhavani (Vijay Sethupathi). The film set the cash registers ringing at the box office.
