Asif Ali discussed his preference for portraying characters with negative undertones during a press conference to promote his upcoming movie, Thalavan. He argued that by taking on different parts, he would become less predictable as an actor in every movie.

"If not, viewers would consistently perceive me as a good person whenever they watch my movie," he stated. The actor continued by saying that he likes playing parts similar to those he did in Ordinary and Uyare rather than playing a villain who only gets punished mercilessly at the conclusion of the movie.

Regarding their collaborations with Biju Menon, Asif stated that the audience adores every character and film on which they have worked together. He remarked, "Our father-son roles in Anuraga Karikkin Vellam are especially dear to our hearts."

Asif Ali plays a police officer in Thalavan

The Kasargold actor said he is portraying a police officer who the public can identify with more. In general, people enjoy seeing strong, valiant police officers. But this is someone we may have actually seen," he continued. Asif went on to say that, particularly in light of Kili Poyi and Honey Bee, he truly wanted to shed the image of the new-age star. He went on to say that his goal for his career is to play as many different characters as he can.

Thalavan to release on May 24

For reasons that are currently unclear, the February 23 original release date of Thalavan was postponed. While the teaser does not give away much about the story, it does hint at an engrossing story about the ego struggle between two different-ranked police officers. After the project was announced and the trailer was released, viewers praised the actors for their previous roles as police officers, which made them great choices for this film.

This thriller, which is directed by Jis Joy, features Shankar Ramakrishnan, Dileesh Pothen, Anushree, Miya, Kottayam Nazeer, and Anushree in supporting roles.
