Thamma trailer was unveiled in Mumbai recently with most of the cast and crew present. Ayushmann Khurrana, who plays the lead role in the movie, will also clash with other characters, Stree director Amar Kaushik has confirmed. When asked about his journey from Munjya to Thamma, Aditya Sarpotdar said, "As a director, I have to make the film as good as the vision that the cast and crew have. Munjya received a lot of love so I'm hoping Thamma will receive a lot more love. It is exciting to be a part of a superhero film, which is in this universe. I'm just looking forward to everyone watching the film."
"During Munjya's process, it was easy to make the film because I had rock-solid producers. So, it was a given that I want to do another movie with them. With Thamma, we've explored something completely different. There's folklore and it's a superhero film. So, I hope it's one of the beginnings," he added.

Amar Kaushik confirmed that since Ayushmann Khurrana is now a part of the Maddock Horror Cinematic Universe, he will reappear. "Yeh ab Universe ka part ho chuke hai toh kahi na kahi toh bhidenge hi phir," Amar said. "Jab itne acche actors hote hai toh aap wait karte hai ki woh kab aapke set pe aaye. Toh I'm just waiting to direct him in another film which has as much comedy, humour and thrill."
Ayushmann said, "The collaboration is so organic that there's no Western influence but Indian folklore. This makes it not pan-India but a film for global viewing. This collaboration is just great."
Thamma is scheduled for October 21 release in theatres.
