Thamma Box Office Collection Day 1: Saiyaara, directed by Mohit Suri, starring two debutants, Aneet Padda and Ahaan Panday, has set a high benchmark this year. Hence, every film which are releasing after Saiyaara has been compared regarding box office numbers. Now, on October 21, another much-awaited film, Thamma, was released in cinemas. The horror comedy film from the Maddock Universe beat Saiyaara as it collected more than Aneet-Ahaan's film on its opening day at the box office.
According to Sacnilk, Ayushmann Khurrana, Rashmika Mandanna, Nawazuddin Siddiqui, and Paresh Rawal's horror comedy film, Thamma, started with a strong opening at the box office. It minted Rs. 24 crore. On the other hand, Aneet Padda and Ahaan Panday's film opened with Rs. 21 crore.
Thamma had a box office clash with Harshvardhan Rane and Sonam Bajwa's Ek Deewane Ki Deewaniyat. Meanwhile, Thamma's opening failed to surpass that of the previous Maddock Horror Comedy Universe film, Stree 2, which opened at Rs. 35 crore last year.
Thamma also earned less than Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3 as it collected Rs. 32 crore on the first day. However, Thamma's start also seems promising, and it is only expected to reach high numbers day by day.
Thamma follows the story of Alok, a historian as well as a modern-day journalist, who researches Indian vampire folklore. While doing research, he accidentally wakes up and is bitten by an ancient, powerful vampire named Yakshasan. Following this, he transforms into a vampire, or 'Betaal' and meets Tadaka, a mysterious vampire. Gradually, Alok and Tadaka fall in love.

Meanwhile, the villainous vampire king, Yakshasan, seeks revenge for Alok and Tadaka's forbidden love. Alok explores his supernatural identity and fights his powerful enemy to save his love and stop the dark reign of Yakshasan.
The cast of Thamma features Ayushmann as Alok, Rashmika as Tadaka, Nawazuddin Siddiqui as Yakshasan, and Paresh Rawal as Ram Bajaj Goyal. Meanwhile, Thamma will land on Prime Video after its theatrical run.
