At a recently held fan event for Thamma, Paresh Rawal told comedian Biswa Kalyan Rath that the core reason why he stayed away from horror movies was because an artist has limited scope and does little work like be scared or wait for an attack. "Maine kabhi aisi bhoot pret wali picture ki nahi hai, kyunki main samajhta hoon ki bhoot pret ki picture mein artist ko kuch karne ka hota nahi," the veteran actor said, adding, "Ab samjho main jungle mein jaa raha hoon saamne se sher aa jaaye, kya karoge? Bhaiyya jo karna hai sher ko karna hai, main kya karunga?" The actor stated that the ghost has to perform most tasks and thus, he refrained from taking up such projects.
