Ayushmann Khurrana's entry into the Maddock Horror Comedy Universe as a vampire is just days away, and the first review of his upcoming movie Thamma is already out. The early review has called Thamma 'a royal mess' while stating that only Ayushmann Khurrana is good in the movie.
Thamma's first review calls the movie a 'royal mess,' while stating how the jokes don't land. "Rashmika please quit. #AyushmannKhurrana is good. Nawaz overacts. Bullshit climax with all. Bad movie. Poor songs. Paresh Rawal worst act," the first review of the film reads.
Thamma is the first movie from Maddock Horror Comedy Universe which is an experimental film. It introduces the world of vampires and more than horror-comedy, the film presents itself as a romantic-comedy. The trailer, though, promised most scope as action-comedy. The movie is also the first in a long time for a Hindi movie to have as many as three dance numbers. Ayushmann Khurrana had defended the same stating that they all are linked to the story that Thamma presents.

It is believed that Thamma would connect with Stree, Munjya as well as Sarkata. The film, of course, also sees Varun Dhawan's cameo appearance as Bhediya. It is further believed that the post-credit scene would introduce us to Shakti Shalini in a sense. However, the same is not yet fully confirmed.
