Thammudu OTT release date: When, where to watch Nithiin's film online

Thammudu is Nithin’s latest film, which ended as a big flop at the box office. Dil Raju produced the film on a budget of just over ₹40 crore, and sadly, the film did not even last for three days in theatres. Nithin’s flop streak continues with this film, which was directed by Shri Ram Venugopal.

We at OTTplay have already revealed that the digital rights of the film have been bagged by Netflix for a fancy price. We had also reported that Thammudu would make its OTT release within a month of its theatrical release. 

As reported, Thammudu will stream on Netflix from August 1, 2025. That means the film will be out within a month of its release, and there is not much buzz for the digital version. However, there will be a section of viewers who would love to watch the film on OTT as they did not get to see it in theatres.

Venu Sreeram last directed Vakeel Saab with Pawan Kalyan, which was a remake of Pink, so there was decent hype ever since the trailer came out that Thammudu would bring Nithin back into the game. But sadly, all this did not happen as Thammudu ended as one of the biggest flops in recent times.

Heroine Laya made her comeback to Telugu cinema after a long gap with Thammudu and played Nithin’s sister in the film. Thammudu is also special as it marked the Telugu debut of Kantara fame Sapthami Gowda. She was seen as a village belle in the film, and her performance was quite good, but sadly, as the film flopped, she went unnoticed.

Thammudu gets badly rejected by critics

Ajaneesh Loknath composed the music, and his background score was quite impactful. Nithin has now moved on to his next film titled Yellamma, which is being directed by Venu Yeldandhi, and Thammudu producer Dil Raju is producing this film as well.

Thammudu is the story of a young man who goes to rescue his sister, a government official kidnapped in a forest. How he brings back his sister and tackles a deadly case is the basic story of the film. Be it the narration, performances, or proceedings, everything was so bad that the audience rejected Thammudu from the first show itself.
