Thandatti OTT release: All you need to know about Pasupathy starrer

Thandatti, billed as a comedy drama, made its digital premiere on Amazon Prime Video on Friday. Directed by debutant filmmaker Ram Sangaiah, the movie stars renowned actor Pasupathy in the lead role. 

During a recent interaction with the media, Pasupathy expressed his excitement about the film, stating, "I instantly liked it as soon as I heard the narration. I hadn't heard a story like this in a long time. It was very cute. I had fallen in love with 'thandatti' (earrings) since childhood. I kept planning to steal her earrings, but it didn't happen. I don't know what happened to those earrings after my grandmother passed away. And I had a wonderful time shooting for this movie. You will all like this. I believe that nobody in recent times has narrated a story in such a simple style."

The trailer for Thandatti provides a glimpse into the film's captivating storyline, set against the backdrop of a village. The plot revolves around an aging police officer portrayed by Pasupathy, who finds himself caught in an extraordinary situation. Just on the verge of retirement, the cop is called in to investigate the theft of earrings from the ears of a deceased woman, played by Rohini, a respected village elder. The incident stirs up a series of events that shed light on various underlying issues prevalent in the village. As the situation spirals out of control, the low-ranking cop struggles to maintain order amidst the chaos.

Director Ram Sangaiah seems to have crafted a unique narrative that promises to entertain audiences with its blend of comedy and tragedy.
