Thandel box office collection Day 1: Naga Chaitanya and Sai Pallavi's Thandel released in theatres on February 7, 2025, which was among the most-anticipated movies of the year. Now the box office report of their day 1 at the ticket window is out and the film has opened to good numbers. The Chandoo Mondeti directorial has raked in Rs 10 crore on its very first day at the box office, according to industry tracker Sacnilk.
Naga Chaitanya, who had been going through a lull phase recently, changed his fortunes for the better with a Rs 10 crore opening at the box office. This is the total India figure (across languages) for the film, as per the Sacnilk website.
The bulk of the collections are from the Telugu version with the film registering a 53.58 per cent Telugu occupancy. Kakinada, Warangal and Hyderabad are among the top regions with high occupancy. Though the Telugu film was also released in Tamil and Hindi, it did not create much of an impact. Chay's film earned Rs 15 lakh on day 1 in the Hindi market, while it collected only Rs 5 lakh in Tamil, according to reports.

Naga Chaithanya and Sai Pallavi previously starred in Love Story, which was also noted for the lead pair’s performance.
Despite the mixed reactions, Thandel has managed to open big at the ticketing window. With no other star film clashing at the ticket window, Thandel is looking at a good weekend at the box office. If the word-of-mouth publicity is good for the movie in the coming days, Thandel can look forward to a successful run at the box office.
