Directed by Chandoo Mondeti, Thandel marks Naga Chaitanya and Sai Pallavi second film together
The first glimpse of Naga Chaitanya and Sai Pallavi’s upcoming sea action drama movie Thandel has been unveiled, and it’s called the ‘Essence of Thandel’. Directed by Chandoo Mondeti of Karthikeya fame, the movie is set against the backdrop of the fishermen community and is said to be based on true events.
First glimpse of Naga Chaitanya and Sai Pallavi’s Thandel is all about coastal life
Thandel’s first glimpse introduces viewers to the world of the coastal drama. The video takes us through the upcoming movie’s theme, which revolves around the central character, played by Chaitanya.
The ‘first glimpse’ begins with his character standing on a boat, throwing a fish net in the sea. Soon after, he is seen being held by cops in a prison in Karachi for undisclosed reasons. Chaitanya’s character then bursts open into a monologue, challenging the cops by praising India in front of them. He chants ‘Bharat Mata Ki Jai’, and then the video cuts to showcase a glimpse of Pallavi’s character, who is seen taking a stroll on the beach and smiling. Going by the first look, the movie hints at a powerful actioner and a love story that unfolds in the coastal setting.
Naga Chaitanya plays a fisherman in Thandel
The Telugu actor is seen in a raw and unkempt look - essaying the role of a fisherman. Playing the titular role of Thandel, he is seen flexing his muscles in a rugged avatar. Chaitanya had to bulk up quite a bit for his role, as showcased in the previous posters of the film.
Sai Pallavi’s second collaboration with Naga Chaitanya
Pallavi’s character is said to be called Satya, who will bring in the actual twist in the love story. Speaking about Thandel, the actress had earlier revealed that she loved the vision of the director, which prompted her to say yes to the film. She has also requested fans to support the film, which is reportedly made on a massive budget. Pallavi and Chaitanya have previously worked together in the 2021 film Love Story.
