Thandel OTT release date: Here's when Naga Chaitanya's film will stream online

Naga Chaitanya’s latest film, Thandel, has been declared a smash hit at the box office. The romantic drama marks the young actor’s first-ever ₹100 crore grosser, a milestone in his career. To celebrate this massive success, Chaitanya hosted a lavish party in Hyderabad a few days ago.

With its theatrical run nearing completion, all eyes are now on the film’s OTT release. We at OTTplay have already reported that Netflix has acquired the digital streaming rights for a whopping ₹50 crore, the highest-ever deal for a Naga Chaitanya film.

As per the latest updates, Netflix is set to premiere Thandel on March 7, 2025. An official confirmation has come out from Netflix. This news has already gone viral and made the fans happy. Given the film’s clean and emotionally engaging content, its OTT release is expected to reach a much wider audience. Thandel will now be available in Hindi and all the Southern languages.

Thandel box office collections

Thandel was produced by Allu Aravind and faced budget overruns due to its expensive production scale. However, thanks to the record-breaking OTT deal and impressive theatrical collections, the makers have successfully recovered their investment. The film has grossed over ₹55 crore net worldwide and is still playing in select theaters across Telugu states.

One of the major highlights of the film was its music, composed by Devi Sri Prasad (DSP). The songs became chartbusters and played a crucial role in the film’s box-office success. Sai Pallavi starred as the female lead, and her chemistry with Naga Chaitanya was widely appreciated.

Directed by Chandoo Mondeti, Thandel is inspired by the real-life story of a fisherman from Srikakulam who accidentally drifted into Pakistani waters. The gripping storytelling won the hearts of audiences. Sai Pallavi's chemistry with Naga Chaitanya is one of the selling points of the film.
