Ajay Devgn and Sidharth Malhotra’s Thank God seems to be losing steam at the box office as the days go by. The film earned Rs 4.15 crores on its third day in theatres, falling short of its earnings on day 2.

The film raked in Rs 4.15 crores on Thursday, witnessing a drop from Wednesday’s earnings of Rs 6 crores. The film has been witnessing a steady decline in its earnings compared to its opening day. The film had hit the big screens as a Diwali release, on October 25. However, its downward graph of earnings as the week progresses is expected in the week days following the holidays. It remains to be seen if Thank God’s box office performance improves as the weekend approaches.

The Indra Kumar directorial had earned an amount of Rs 8.10 crores on its opening day. Day three’s earnings take the film’s total box office collections to Rs 18.25 crores.

Thank God follows the story of Aayan Kapoor(Sidharth), a vain real estate broker who rakes up huge debts and loses consciousness after an accident. He finds himself face to face with a divine entity named CG(Ajay), who asks the mortal to play a ‘Game of Life’- if he wins, he can go back to his life and if he loses, he will be condemned to hell.

In addition to Ajay and Sidharth, the film also features Rakul Preet Singh as the female lead. Nora Fatehi also makes a special appearance in the film as well. The film is directed by Indra Kumar, in his latest collaboration with Ajay after films such as Ishq (1997), Masti and Total Dhamaal (2019).

Part of the review of Thank God on OTTplay reads “ Even at the time when the audience wishes for something lighter, the film is dated and the narrative doesn't fit into today's times”.

Thank God will be available to stream on Amazon Prime Video after its theatrical run.
