The makers of Ajay Devgn and Sidharth Malhotra starrer Thank God have announced the release date for their upcoming film. Interestingly, the release is such that it clashes with an Akshay Kumar-starring film. That’s right. Ajay and Sidharth will be facing Akshay at the Box Office soon.
Thank God is all set to clash with Akshay-Jacqueline Fernandez’s upcoming film, Ram Setu. Both the movies are slated for a Diwali release. Co-incidentally, Sidharth, Akshay and Jacqueline had worked together in a movie called Brothers previously.
While Akshay had already announced that Ram Setu will release on Diwali, it is only recently that T-Series also confirmed that is the release date for Thank God. This announcement comes soon after producer Bhushan Kumar announced that Thank God’s release is being delayed because of the extensive VFX work pending.
Thank God, which went on floors in January, also stars Rakul Preet Singh in the lead role. The slice-of-life comedy, directed by Indra Kumar, will mark the first time collaboration for Ajay and Sidharth but not for Ajay-Rakul or even Sidharth-Rakul.
Meanwhile, Ram Setu also features Nushrratt Bharuccha and Pankaj Tripathi apart from Akshay Kumar and Jacqueline Fernandez. The film will try to tell the tale of Indian culture and the Ram Setu, made by Lord Hanuman for Lord Ram in the historic times. This movie is set to question whether the Ram Setu is real or not.
Interestingly, this is not the first time that Akshay will be facing a clash at the Box Office in 2022. The actor will have another big clash – with Aamir Khan.
Aamir-Kareena Kapoor Khan’s film Laal Singh Chaddha is slated to release on Raksha Bandhan. The Hindi adaptation of Tom Hanks’ Forrrest Gump will release with Akshay-Bhumi Pednekar’s movie Raksha Bandhan. Directed by Aanand L. Rai, the film will release in theatres on August 11, same as Laal Singh Chaddha.
