Director Dileesh Pothan and scriptwriter Syam Pushkaran’s next production from Bhavana Studios is set to go on floors on May 20. The movie titled Thankam has Vineeth Sreenivasan and Biju Menon in the lead.
Dileesh had exclusively told OTTplay back in March that the movie, which was first announced with Fahadh Faasil and Joju George, had undergone a cast revision after the duo had to opt out due to scheduling conflicts. Vineeth and Biju Menon will now star as the lead actors in the crime drama, which is scripted by Syam and helmed by debutant Saheed Arafath.
The team will begin shooting the film on May 20 in Coimbatore, where most of the portions of the movie are set. While the movie was announced in 2019, the pandemic caused the delay. The team also finalised Tamil actors as part of the cast after auditions. Both Biju Menon and Vineeth will be joining the film in May.
Biju is currently shooting for Deepu Anthikad’s suspense drama, which also has Guru Somasundaram in a pivotal character. The film, which also has Divya Pillai, Santhipriya, Alencier Ley and Prashanth Alexandar in pivotal roles, revolves around a cop and a thief. Vineeth recently wrapped up shooting for editor Abhinav Sunder Nayak’s debut directorial Mukundan Unni Associates in which the actor plays a lawyer. He will also be working with another debutant director – Jayalal Divakaran – in Kurukkan, which also has Shine Tom Chacko and Sreenivasan as other pivotal characters. The film will go on floors by mid August.
Meanwhile, Bhavana Studios is also producing debutant Sangeeth P Rajan’s film, which has Basil Joseph, Dileesh and Indrans in the lead along with a cow as a main character. The movie, which is scripted by Vinoy Thomas and Aneesh Anjali, also has Jagadish, Johny Antony and Unnimaya Prasad in pivotal roles.
