Kannada actor-filmmaker Tharun Sudhir and actor Sharan have a long-standing professional relationship. Ever since Sharan turned hero with his 100th film Raambo, Tharun has served as creative director on every project he’s backed. With the recent Guru Shishyaru, Tharun turned co-producer as well, along with Sharan. Earlier today, on the latter’s birthday, Tharun announced his next production venture – Production Number 2 of Tharun Sudhir Kreatiivez will be with Sharan in the lead.

Calling Sharan a brother from another mother, Tharun wrote, “Feeling elated to announce the beginning of our next project #ProductionNo2 with you all, on the occasion of my closest friend's birthday... Wishing @realsharaan a fantastic birthday and the best of life.” There were no other details about the project, as Sharan has just completed Navaneeth’s horror comedy Choo Mantar and is set to embark on a dark comedy with Puksatte Lifeu maker Aravind Kuplikar. Tharun’s post, though, elicited a lot of queries about his next directorial, given that he’s currently directing Challenging Star Darshan’s 56th film. The buzz is that the title of the Rockline Venkatesh production will be revealed on Darshan’s birthday on February 16, with some claiming that the film is called Kateera.

Meanwhile, on the occasion of Sharan’s birthday, the makers of Choo Mantar revealed a teaser, which has been widely appreciated. Netizens have been praising Sharan for his choice of scripts and attempts to do something different with each film, even while playing on his strength, comedy. Sharan, who was last seen as a PT master in Guru Shishyaru, is also awaiting the release of Suni’s Avatara Purusha part 2, ‘Trishanku’. The film has been delayed as it requires quite a bit of computer graphics work for its black magic portions. Sharan plays a magician who pretends to be a junior film artiste in order to gain access to a place that houses the Trishanku mani. Whether he gets it or falls into the hands of the bad men is what the second instalment is set to explore.
