Tharunam OTT release date: When and where to stream Kishen Das and Smruthi Venkat's romantic thriller

Tharunam, the 2025 Tamil film starring Kishen Das and Smruthi Venkat in the lead roles, will begin streaming on Aha Tamil from June 20 onwards. You can watch the romantic thriller with your OTTplay Premium subscription as well.

Tharunam is a 2025 romantic thriller which released in theatres in January for Pongal. Some months after its theatrical release, the film has found a digital home. Aha Tamil has bagged the post-theatrical streaming rights of the film and will premiere it on June 20. Tharunam stars Kishen Das and Smruthi Venkat in the lead roles.

Written and directed by filmmaker Arvindh Srinivasan, who earlier made Déjà vu with Arulnidhi, Tharunam is a romantic thriller which features Kishen Das, Smruthi Venkat, and Raj Iyappan in prominent roles. The film revolves around a young CRPF officer who has to smartly make choices after his fiancée commits a grave crime in the spur of the moment, leading to an unexpected and dangerous outcome.

Produced by Pugaz and Eden under Zhen Studios, the film has music by Darbuka Siva. The technical crew also includes Raja Bhattacharjee cranking the camera and editor Arul Elango Siddharth. Tharunam was one of the films which released in theatres for Pongal. The film opened to mixed reviews upon its release.

Another romantic film Nesippaya, which features Akash Murali and Aditi Shankar in the lead roles, is already streaming on SunNXT and OTTplay Premium. The romantic thriller is directed by Vishnuvardhan and is about a girl who breaks up with her boyfriend and relocates to Portugal for a job. However, when she is framed for a murder that she did not commit, her former lover comes in search of her and rescues her. The film will also premiere on Aha Tamil on June 27. Sarathkumar, Kalki Koechlin, Kushboo and others are also part of the film.
