'That is news to me': Karan Johar QUASHES reports of Akshay Kumar-Samantha Ruth Prabhu collaborating for a film

In season 7 of Karan Johar’s popular chat show Koffee with Karan, Akshay Kumar and Samantha Ruth Prabhu appeared together. Ever since the third episode of the chat show went on air, it became the talk of the town for multiple reasons.

Several reports doing the rounds suggested that Karan Johar has signed Akshay and Samantha for an upcoming mythological film. While the fans got excited at the possibility of seeing Akshay and Samantha together in a film, their joy was shortlived as Karan quashed the rumours in one of his recent media interactions. As per a report on Bollywood Hungama KJo has put an end to the speculations indicating that the rumours were untrue. Reportedly, the filmmaker was taken by surprise and said, "I am directing Sam and Akshay? That is news to me."

The rumours of Akshay and Samantha collaborating for a project began spreading quickly after fans observed their chemistry on the talk show. Followers of the two actors started to speculate about their likely collaboration in a KJo flick. The rumours can be put to rest now that KJo has spoken himself.

While the first episode of the chat show featured Rocky Aur Rani Ki Prem Kahani actors Ranveer Singh and Alia Bhatt, the second episode had Janhvi Kapoor and Sara Ali Khan in attendance. The promo of the forthcoming episode of the show has already gone viral, thanks to the presence of Liger cast members Vijay Deverakonda and Ananya Panday on the couch.

Other celebrities who will be seen on the couch in upcoming episodes include Kriti Sanon, Tiger Shroff, Shahid Kapoor, Kiara Advani, Aamir Khan, Kareena Kapoor Khan, Anil Kapoor, Varun Dhawan among others.

The much popular chat show debuted in the year 2004 and has already completed six seasons. The last season of the talk show was released in 2019, and it is returning with season seven after a two-year hiatus.

New episodes of Koffee with Karan Season 7 premiere exclusively on Disney+ Hotstar, every Thursday at 7pm.
