Ryan Reynolds is gearing up to get back on the silver screen with another science-fiction film. The Adam Project, a time travel tale with heart, will be released this month.
What is The Adam Project about?
The Adam Project follows the story of a young boy named Adam, grieving the loss of his father. One day, he comes face to face with a man from the future, who claims to be the adult Adam, a fighter pilot from the year 2050. Together, the duo takes a trip to different timelines in order to confront their deceased father, save the future destruction and go on a string of haywire adventures.
Who are the cast and crew behind The Adam Project?
The film stars Reynolds as adult Adam, with Walker Scobell playing young Adam. In a conversation with Variety, Reynolds had said that the film was ‘special’ to him. He talked about how much he loved sci-fi classics such as Back to the Future and Steven Spielberg’s E.T. the Extra-Terrestrial and compared The Adam Project to such films. The actor said that he felt the upcoming film reminded him of the filmmaking styles of the 1980s.
Mark Ruffalo and Jennifer Garner star as Adam’s father and mother respectively. The film also features Zoe Saldaña, Catherine Keener and Alex Mallari Jr.
The film is directed by Shawn Levy, who had recently directed Reynolds in the 2021 science-fiction comedy, Free Guy. The upcoming film is written by Jonathan Tropper, T.S. Nowlin, Jennifer Flackett and Mark Levin.
When and where to watch The Adam Project?
The Adam Project will premiere on Netflix on March 11, 2022.
