Actor Robert Pattinson says he was initially trying a different voice for the role of the caped crusader but was then asked to stop by the makers as they found it, 'absolutely atrocious'.

In a talk show with Jimmy Kimmel, the actor opened up about the film, watching it with his girlfriend and his experience working on the film, directed by Matt Reeves. During the interaction, the actor told the host that he wanted to go with something different for the superhero's voice. He said there is something about putting the suit on that meant, "you have to speak in a certain way". He added, "Everyone does this kind of gruff, gravelly thing, and I’m like, ‘I’m going to do the opposite, I’m gonna go really whispery’. I tried to do it for the first two weeks, and it just looked absolutely atrocious, and they told me to stop doing it.”

Earlier, in an interview with GQ, director Reeves had said that Pattinson is like a 'chameleon' as he never tends to play a character with his exact voice. "The voice is one of his ways in,” he had said.

Pattinson had also revealed on the talk show that he wasn't the first actor to attempt to change the voice. The Twilight star had found out a few weeks ago that Christian Bale too changed his voice for the film Batman Begins. "If you listen to the first Batman Begins teaser trailer, you can hear the original voice," he said on the show. He further said that he has watched the film with Reeves and his girlfriend Suki Waterhouse, who got teary-eyed by the end of the movie, despite not being a fan of superhero films.
