The Bengal Files, the third film in Vivek Agnihotri's ‘Files Trilogy,' has been garnering enough controversy before release, leading to a halt in the screening of the film in West Bengal. The other two movies from the trilogy are: The Kashmir Files and The Tashkent Files. Both of these films faced objections and several problems, but were eventually released. Amid this, Sacnilk has shared the advance booking collection.

2 days before the release of The Bengal Files: Right To Life has collected Rs. 21.87 lakh (With Block Seats) for the advance booking, as per Sacnilk. It has clocked a gross of Rs 6.24 lakh from advance bookings, with 1928 tickets sold across 392 shows till 3 PM, September 3, 2025.

Vivek Agnihotri appeals CM Mamata Banerjee to not ban The Bengal Files in West Bengal

On September 2, Vivek Agnihotri shared a video on X where he directly appealed to West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee to allow his film, The Bengal Files, to screen in her state. He said, "The film is not about hatred but truth and healing."

Vivek also said that the film is a work of art and historical storytelling, not a tool for division. He appealed to Banerjee, saying that freedom of expression is the foundation of democracy and the audience should be given the right to decide for themselves.

Sharing the video and directly addressing her in the video, Agnihotri asked the West Bengal CM not to look at the film as a Bengali, but as a citizen of India. He captioned the video, “URGENT: An open appeal to Hon’ble CM @MamataOfficial. Please listen till the end and share widely as your protest against banning of a film on Hindu Genocide. #TheBengalFiles In cinemas 05 September 2025
