The trailer for The Bengal Files was released on August 16, and it has already created quite a stir. The trailer launch event was stopped by the Kolkata Police, and it grabbed attention. Vivek Agnihotri, Pallavi Joshi, and Mithun Chakraborty reacted to the situation. The news of The Bengal Files is everywhere amid the two big releases, Coolie and War 2. However, the reviews for both War 2 and Coolie are not up to the mark; hence, the concentration has been shifted to The Bengal Files.

The trailer for The Bengal Files was released on August 16. The trailer launch event was supposed to take place at a five-star hotel in the city in the afternoon, but Vivek Agnihotri alleged that the Kolkata Police stopped the trailer launch of his film The Bengal Files, PTI reported. Due to this, a ruckus erupted.

Reacting to the incident, Vivek said, "If this is not dictatorship/fascism, then what is?...Law and order in your state has failed, and this is the reason that everyone supports 'The Bengal Files.' After all tests and trials, this program was being held. The hotel managers still can't tell us why we are not allowed to continue with our program."

Speaking to ANI, Pallavi Joshi said there is no freedom of expression in this state and added that as filmmakers and actors, they are not able to screen what they have made. "What is the threat they are feeling? Such a thing did not happen even in Kashmir. Can we derive that the situation in Kashmir is better than in Bengal? See what is happening in Bengal today. And this is why films like 'The Bengal Files' are important," she said.

Reacting to the incident, Mithun Chakraborty told ANI, "I can't even imagine that such a thing can happen in such a big hotel. I am very surprised...all this will keep happening, will keep going on, and Bengal Files will also be released..."
