Priyanka Chopra Jonas is Ercell Bodden, a former pirate nicknamed Bloody Mary – not for her cooking skills – who has given up her life of dacoity on the high seas and ruthless violence for family and children on a faraway island. Problem is that when she left, she took off with some valuables that her former crew wants back, so they, led by Captain Connor (Karl Urban) track her down.
She, of course, does not take kindly to the fact that they’ve come to her house and threatened her family and unleashes unspeakable violence on the men. That’s about the gist of what’s in store for audiences in the new film The Bluff that is coming to Amazon Prime Video on February 25, as per the trailer that came out a while ago. The film can also be accessed on OTTplay Premium with a top-up subscription.
The Bluff, directed by Frank E Flowers and produced by the Russo brothers among others, including Priyanka, also stars Ismael Cruz Cordova, Safia Oakley-Green, Vedanten Naidoo, Temuera Morrison, Zach Morris, David Field, Pacharo Mzembe, Gideon Mzembe and Ronnie James Hughes.

The Bluff is Priyanka’s second collaboration with Russo brothers after the spy thriller series Citadel, which is also on Prime Video. Karl, meanwhile, is the star of one of the platform’s most popular series, The Boys, in which he plays Billy Butcher. He is set to return for the fifth and final season of the show shortly. According to reports, the role of Bloody Mary was initially meant for Avatar’s Zoe Saldana.
