After the runaway success of The Broken News’ first part, the makers were very enthusiastic and encouraged to make the show’s second part. With the pressure to deliver (read ‘repeat’) the success of the first part, the makers are now ready with the show’s much-awaited second part. But, is the second part of the newsroom drama worth the hype and the wait? Well… here we are giving you the top five reasons why The Broken News 2 should be a must-watch on your list!

Stellar starcast
Those who have seen the first part of The Broken News will surely swear by the show’s starcast. Extra brownie points to the casting director of the show for having seemingly handpicked the cast of the show. Be it Jaideep Ahlawat as the ‘super boss’ or the svelte Sonali Bendre, who is seemingly set out to shock people with her performance or the ever- dependable Shriya Pilgaonkar, who is yet again, out to prove as to why is she the go-to actor for any kind of challenging roles!

Sonali Bendre’s OTT debut
The very moment someone utters the name Sonali Bendre, the first thing that comes to our mind is the face of the ever gracious, ever smiling, ever charming lady who had made her Bollywood debut with Naaraaz and looks relevant even today!

Even though she may not be seen doing any mainstream Hindi films these days, the public was definitely wanting to see her doing varied roles. So, here she is! The Broken News 2 sees her in the role of the no-nonsense Ameena Qureshi. And to top it all, it’s the series of The Broken News which also marks the OTT debut of Sonali Bendre!

Flawless direction
The gripping series, which is set against a courtroom drama, has been directed by Vinay Waikul. For the unversed, Vinay Waikul is loaded with experience of being behind the camera for many prestigious projects. These projects include being the Assistant Director for (landmark) films like Ghajini, Dangal and Swades. Besides that, he had also directed The Test Case, which was extremely appreciated and well received.

Loaded with such professional expertise, Vinay Waikul brings to the table his knowledge of spot-on directorial abilities, whose glimpse one got to see in The Broken News’ first part!

Gripping plot
All those who have seen the first part of The Broken News, simply just cannot stop praising the series’ plot, which really had shaken many. For the unversed, The Broken News 2 continues with the arch rivalry which was shown in the first series – that of two Indian news channels viz., Josh 24/7 and Awaaz Bharati.

Besides being professional rivals, these two channels also have an underlying rivalry in terms of their ethics, morals and principles. The manner in which these two channels function, operate and
“co-operate’ is what forms one of the shining USPs of the show.

Success of Broken News’s first part
After the first part of Broken News met with unprecedented success, the audiences all over were extremely eager to know how exactly the story will be proceeding in the second part. Well. It is these expectations and also the confidence in the director to roll out an equally engaging second part of the series of The Broken News, which makes the show one of the most eagerly awaited ones of recent times.

The Broken News 2 will be premiering on ZEE5 on May 3.
