The Broken News 2 fresh promo - Jaideep Ahlawat, Sonali Bendre, Shriya Pilgaonkar are ready for a newsroom war

On April 16, ZEE5 released the trailer for the highly anticipated second season of its popular suspense drama, The Broken News. Starring Sonali Bendre, Jaideep Ahlawat, and Shriya Pilgaonkar, the upcoming season is scheduled to premiere on the streamer on May 3. Check out the latest promo of the series for a sneak peek!

In the latest promo of the series, we see Sonali as journalist Amina Qureshi debating on a topic of national interest against Dipankar Sanyal (played by Jaideep). Their debate seemed endless! Thus, to cut the promo short, journalist Radha Bhargav (played by Shriya) made an entry and urged viewers to gather more details about the upcoming series on May 3.

Reacting to the promo, one social media user said, “Can’t wait for Season 2.”

“I have never missed watching any show, series, or movie of Jaideep and Shriya. Can’t wait to watch this one!” wrote another Instagrammer in the comments section.

“Sonali as Amina looks so cute! Waiting for May 3,” said another netizen.

What was seen in the trailer of The Broken News 2?

The trailer showed fictional news outlet Awaz Bharti's journo Radha Bhargava (portrayed by Shriya) having an intense face-off with another fictional news outlet Josh 24x7's journo Dipankar Sanyal (portrayed by Jaideep) in a powerful manner, where idealism goes head-to-head with sensationalism. Radha, who had been imprisoned because of Dipankar's deeds, comes back with a desire for payback by taking down Dipankar's style of journalism.

Actors Akshay Oberoi and Geetika Vidya Ohylan will also be seen in minor roles.

The teaser of the series was released in 2023. A year later, i.e. in 2024, Season 2 of the show will see the light of the day.
