Director Vinay Waikul's The Broken News 2 opened to a thunderous response upon its OTT release. The series marked the return of Sonali Bendre, Shriya Pilgaonkar and Jaideep Ahlawat as three fierce journalists. The first season of The Broken News was released in 2022 followed by its sequel earlier this month. Both seasons are available for streaming on ZEE5 and OTTplay Premium. As of today, The Broken News 2 makers dropped a new promo, which features a brutal TRP game between three journalists.
ZEE5 shared a gripping promo of The Broken News 2 on Instagram. It features Sonali aka Amina Qureshi, Jaideep aka Dipankar Sanyal and Shriya as Radha Bhargava engaging in a brutal TRP game. This glimpse sheds light on how the three journalists chase stories for their news channels and discover deadly truths. As the streaming platform dropped the promo on the gram, they wrote, "Behind the headlines, where journalists battle for truth and TRP! Watch now! TheBrokenNewsS2 streaming now, only on ZEE5 (sic)."
Meanwhile, speaking with India.com, Sonali Bendre revealed how she dealt with fake news about her in the 90s. The actress said, "A lot of news used to be written about me as an actor and the gossip, the salacious gossip was very much the fake news. It took years, 5 or 10 years sometime that it became obvious that it is fake news. People lost interest in it, and nobody wanted to know that it was fake news or not and things just moved on."
Coming back to The Broken News 2, the web series also features Indraneil Sengupta, Sanjeeta Bhattacharya, Taaruk Raina and others. The show dropped on May 3, 2024. And it has been doing well on the streaming platform ever since.
