Erin Doherty, popular for her role as Princess Anne in The Crown, is all set to headline Amazon Prime Video and BBC One psychological-drama series Chloe.
Production for this series, created by Sex Education director Alice Seabright, has already commenced in Bristol, UK. Doherty will play a temp worker named Becky, who lives with her mother and is fascinated by the Instagram account of Chloe (Poppy Gilbert), who seems to lead the perfect life. The plot thickens when Chloe suddenly dies and Becky embarks on a journey to find out how and why, which leads her to assume an alternate identity.
Chloe will have six hour-long episodes that will stream on Amazon Prime Video. The series’ cast also includes other British actors like Billy Howle, Pippa Bennett-Warner, Jack Farthing, Akshay Khanna and Brandon Micheal Hall. The series will mark the debut of actor Alexander Eliot.
Talking to Variety about her character Becky, Seabright said, “Becky is a complex, courageous heroine and there is no one better to play her than Erin. All these characters have been a dream to write, and it now feels like they have found their soulmates in our amazing cast. I can’t wait to start bringing the show to life with them, and with our wonderful crew.”
The series will also feature an original music score composed by Will Gregory and Alison Goldfrapp.
