John Abraham's The Diplomat has held up better in the first half of day 1 itself, which is much better than Sohum Shah's Sohum Shah’s Crazxy Box Office from opening day

John Abraham's The Diplomat, which released in theatres on March 14, is off to a slow start. The movie has, however, managed to earn more than the recent releases like Sohum Shah's Crazxy and Reema Kagti's Superboys of Malegaon. Both the movies had earned in the range of Rs. 1 crore.
John Abraham's The Diplomat's advance booking and early Box Office numbers are out. The movie has earned Rs. 1.4 crore in the morning itself, according to Sacnilk. Thus, even if the Box Office for this movie is slow, it is still better than what we witnessed with Crazxy and Superboys of Malegaon recently. It is to be noted that the budget for all the movies were nearly Rs. 20 crore.
It is a month since Vicky Kaushal's Chhaava released in theatres. The Box Office numbers for that still remain unbeatable (with a total Box Office collection of over Rs. 500 crore) but for The Diplomat to earn Rs. 1.4 crore on the first morning of its release, the John Abraham-starrer might just be off to a slow but promising start. Crazxy and Superboys of Malegaon, which released when Chhaava craze was still at peak, suffered a massive impact but The Diplomat remains unaffected, at least for now.
It is a long weekend for the Indians celebrating Holi. The festival sure appears to have given John's film the boost it needed. Although this is bound to help the movie over the weekend, whether The Diplomat actually performs after today is what the real question would be.
John Abraham's Vedaa, co-starring Sharvari, became one of the more underrated movies of 2024. The film, available for streaming on Zee5 via OTTplay Premium, was a must-watch of the year. So, if you have not seen this one, do not wait for Christmas and stream it already!
