The Divorce Insurance Story:

Struggling with failed insurance plans, Noh Gi-jun has to come up with a novel idea. He decides it is time to come up with a new insurance - Divorce Insurance. Before he knows it, the idea becomes the next big thing in the market.

The Divorce Insurance Review:

The Divorce Insurance begins around couples who seem in love but are actually constantly arguing. Just as we witness one such couple, Lee Dong-wook enters the scene as The Divorce Insurance guaranteer, who talks about divorce preparations. The very conversation leaves the woman shocked, while he is unaffected.

Dong-wook being straight to the point and asking people to cut the bullshit is peak Dong-wook as a person (not actor). And just like that, with a slightly awkward situation, we are introduced to the concept of Divorce Insurance. Of course, given the Asian market (people), this is met with resistance. Till allimony is mentioned. Suddenly, divorce insurance becomes a deal you cannot resist. And still, it is met with resistance, a lot of it in fact. It is Dong-wook's confidence that makes you notice the show.

Kim Won-hae is back to his Strong Girl Bong-soon days, and he is well into his ever-so-frustrated character. This time he plays Noh Gi-joon (Dong-wook)'s boss, Na Dae-bok.

The nightmare that paperworks are, come alive in the funny yet most realistic way possible! It takes you to the very moment where the idea of Divorce Insurance generated.

Dong-wook the actor is also back with his antics. He has found a male counterpart who shares the same mental illness as him but wouldn't accept it. That is where the restaurant scene becomes a peak moment. Of course, there's Dong-wook magic even in that.

The women bonding is as real as it gets. The liabilities that one wedding brings are too much, and a realistic way, given the ways of the society, is sorted out. The problems are still higher than the solution, though.

The series is mainly disrupted with random scenes in between important ones. While the intention almost always is to make the scenes seem funny, they end up being weird and sometimes awkward. Just like that, a love story starts. Of course, the episode comes to an end with an expected twist for a K-Drama. Nonetheless, this is a huge twist.

The Divorce Insurance Verdict:

The Divorce Insurance barely has anything new to offer. The episode works in two scenes at max, only thanks to Lee Dong-wook. But it is too early to say where this is heading.
