The Eken trailer: This is what Paayel Sarkar has to say about promo of Anirban Chakrabarti-led movie

Eken babu fans are all euphoric. The trailer of The Eken movie dropped recently and it seems like Eken Babu once again managed to capture the soul and spectacle of the quintessential “Maachey Bhaatey” Bengali detective.

Directed by Joydeep Mukherjee, The Eken movie is led by Anirban Chakrabarti and also stars Debasish Mondal, Paayel Sarkar, Somak Ghosh, among others. Recently, Paayel Sarkar shared her reactions to the trailer. She ecstatically stated that it is amazing and she simply loved the trailer, urging the fans to also watch and share their feedback.

Paayel Sarkar portrays the role of a high-born Bipasha Mitra, who’s filled with debonair and charm. The trailer too leaves a few breadcrumbs behind, which triggers lingering questions and doubts about Bipasha Mitra. The trailer portrays her as an affluent, persuasive individual who manages to rope in Ekendra Sen aka Eken babu with a mildly tempting request.

And Eken is all game about investigating a missing antique idol.

The jovial and enterprising sleuth Eken gets going with his process of unmasking the crime with a mild Chaplinesque behavioral trait at times. The plot thickens even further with murder and Devraj Singh (Debasish Mondal of Mandaar fame), a special friend of Bipasha Mitra, which appears to add another layer to the puzzle.

The trailer leaves Bipasha Mitra (Paayel) with a pale facial expression, triggering a curious twist of notes about her real motif.

Paayel Sarkar is a popular name amongst Bengali cinema lovers, who has appeared in both Bengali and Hindi television. She ventured into films with Sudhu Tumi in 2004 and bagged the award for Best Actress for her performance in Le Chakka.

Meanwhile, The Eken will release in theatrs on April 14. The fans are going to dig in further once the movie releases. Post its theatrical run, The Eken is likely to be released on Hoichoi.
