The Empire trailer: Kunal Kapoor led magnum opus promises an exciting saga; watch

The trailer of Nikkhil Advani's The Empire is here. Led by Kunal Kapoor, who plays Babar, and boasting of an ensemble cast that includes Shabana Azmi, Dhrasti Dhami, Dino Morea, Rahul Dev, Imaad Shah, Shaheer Bamba and Aditya Seal, this one looks grand and magnificient.

The trailer begins with Babar narrating how he has been evading death, and wondering for how long he would be able to do so. He had to shoulder big responsibilities from a young age, and now has to save his empire from Shaibani Khan, played by Dino Morea. The rest is a game of power, intelligence, of love and lust and betrayal, and of fighting for family and kingdom.

Based on Empire of the Moghul: Raiders from the North by Alex Rutherford, the eight-episode series promises us to give the grandeur we generally see in Bhansali films on our computer screens. In fact, the director of the series is Mitakshara Kumar, who has worked as an associate director on Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s epics Bajirao Mastani and Padmaavat. Check out the trailer here:
