The Eye trailer out: Shruti Haasan's film follows a young widow who returns to the island where her husband died, grappling with haunting emotions and an ominous presence

We had earlier reported that actor Shruti Haasan will be starring in an international project titled The Eye. The film would feature the Salaar actor in a leading role, and will be a psychological thriller, co-starring Mark Rowley. On Wednesday, Shruti took it to social media to share the trailer of The Eye.

The trailer begins with a couple spending time on the beach, while the woman talks about certain emotions that are haunting her. There are intercuts of her enjoying the waters, but also that of something disturbing her. She is asked why she has come back, and there is someone called Felix who has died. There is an ominous presence throughout the film, as we see Shruti Haasan go through a series of emotions, from painful ones to that of desperation and passion. As the music intensifies, so does her emotions. Will she become the prey to her own emotions?
Touted to be a psychological thriller, the film will make its premieres on February 27 at the WENCH Film Festival in Mumbai. It is helmed by Daphne Schmon, with Emily Carlton writing the script. As per the makers, “The Eye is uniquely led by a female creative and producing team and is the first sustainably produced film made in Greece, with the collaboration of Fingerprint Content and Greenshoot.” A release date for The Eye is yet to be announced by the makers.
The main character of the narrative is a young widow who returns to the island where her husband passed away to scatter his ashes. After discovering the potential cause of his death, she is tempted to make a horrible decision that might bring him back.
Meanwhile, Shruti Haasan is also working in Tamil film Coolie, starring Rajinikanth in the lead role, and directed by Lokesh Kanagaraj.
