The second ‘most-talked-about’ Oscar 2024 moment after Ryan Gosling’s I'm Just Ken performance features Ryan Gosling once again. This time his banter with Emily Blunt. The two stars from the two most successful films Barbie and Oppenheimer barbed about their respective films before they presented a special tribute to stunt performers.
Soon the duo – Kitty from Oppenheimer and Ken from Barbie – teams up on the screen for The Fall Guy in which Ryan Gosling plays a stuntman and Emily Blunt plays a budding director. In the film, Colt (Ryan) – a body double of Tom Ryder (Aaron Taylor-Johnson) – meets with a career-ending accident while shooting a film that has his girlfriend Jody (Emily) as the camera person. He falls on his back from a height after the safety guards fail to work. Months later, when Cold starts working as a valet at a restaurant, he gets a call from Gail (Hannah Waddingham) – producer of Jody’s debut film – who coaxes him to join Jody and the team. Soon Colt and Jody realise that they became part of a conspiracy by Jody’s debut film’s hero Tom Ryder (Aaron Taylor-Johnson). The film also features Winston Duke and others. The film received positive reviews from viewers and critics alike.
The film was released in May this year and did fairly well at the box office. On May 21, the film got its digital release on Prime, and Apple TV+ but not in India. Now, however, the film will be available on Bookmyshow rent and will stream from June 14.
