June has hardly begun and the first weekend has already a host of exciting movies and shows lined up that will cater to fans of all genres. For those eagerly awaiting the second season of The Family Man or prefer a light-hearted fantasy web series such as Sweet Tooth, there’s enough for everyone to have a binge-worthy weekend. Here’s our top picks from this week’s releases that you can watch with your family:

The Family Man Season 2 | Amazon Prime Video

The second instalment of the spy thriller show dropped on June 3 and has already been lauded by the fans and critics. The nine-episode-long series will once again have undercover agent Srikant Tiwari and team trying to stop anti-establishment forces that threaten national security.

Mortal Kombat | BMS Stream

The action-packed film, inspired by the hugely successful video game series, has characters Cole Young, Liu Kang, Kung Lao and Kano teaming up with Earth’s greatest champions as they take on enemies from another world.

The Witches | Amazon Prime Video

In Robert Zemeckis’ retelling of the Roald Dahl story, a young boy comes to live with his grandmother in a rural town. However, encounters with witches in the town prompt them to move to a resort which also happens to be the venue for a grand coven gathering.

Inspired by a true story, the eight-episode-long Brazilian crime thriller series follows the story of a father and son who take different paths in life despite being surrounded by drugs and criminals. While the father is a cop, his son gets involved with the wrong crowd and becomes a gang leader.

Made in Italy | BMS Stream

This British comedy also revolves around a father and son, played by real-life father-son duo Liam Neeson and Michael Richardson, as they try to mend their relationship while trying to sell a house in the beautiful Tuscan countryside that they inherited.

Kho Kho | Amazon Prime Video and Saina Play

Rajisha Vijayan plays a former athlete who joins a girls’ high school as a physical education teacher in this Malayalam sports drama. She tries to live vicariously through the girls as they put together a kho kho team and chase new goals, breaking away from the past that holds them back.

Sweet Tooth | Netflix

The fantasy series, based on a DC comic book, is set in a post-apocalyptic world with human-animal hybrid species. It follows Gus, a young boy with deer features, who with the help of a wanderer ventures into a world filled with perils and adventures.

Raya and The Last Dragon | Disney+ Hotstar

The animated movie revolves around the teenage warrior Raya who, aided by the last dragon, seeks to restore a broken magical stone, to stop the evil spirits that are taking over the world and reducing people to rocks.

Chaos Walking | Lionsgate Play

In a futuristic world without women, where everyone can hear and see each other’s thoughts, Todd (Tom Holland) must save a young woman (Daisy Ridley), who crash lands on his planet. During their dangerous journey, Todd also uncovers dark secrets about the planet.

Lisey’s Story | Apple TV+

Based on Stephen King’s psychological horror novel, this miniseries, which is produced by JJ Abrams, follows widow Lisey Landon (Julianne Moore) as she’s stalked by a man obsessed with her husband’s literary works.
