February is looking to be a great year for OTT content, with yet another thrilling murder mystery series gearing up to hit a major platform soon. The Great Indian Murder, based on one of Vikas Swarup’s popular books will release this week.

What is The Great Indian Murder about?

The upcoming murder mystery series was previously titled Six Suspects and revolves around the investigation into the murder of Vicky Rai. Rai is found murdered at a party he hosted to celebrate his acquittal in a rape and murder case. The investigator duo in charge of the case, DCP Sudha Bhardwaj and Suraj Yadav,circle around six main suspects. As the two talk to the suspects, they are able to see the story told from different points of view.

The series is based on the 2016 novel Six Suspects, written by Swarup. Swarup is known for his bestselling book, Q&A, which was adapted into the Academy Award-winning film Slumdog Millionaire.

Who are the cast and crew behind The Great Indian Murder?

Richa Chadha and Pratik Gandhi star as investigators Sudha and Suraj respectively. While talking about the series, Chadha had referred to it as ‘the murkiest murder’ she had ever seen.

Raghubir Yadav, Ashutosh Rana, Sharib Hashmi, Amey Wagh, Jatin Goswami, Shashank Arora and Paoli Dam also star in the series in pivotal roles.

The series is directed by Tigmanshu Dhulia and bankrolled by Ajay Devgn and Priti Vinay Sinha. Dhulia also wrote the show along with Vijay Maurya, and Puneet Sharma.

When and where to watch The Great Indian Murder?

The Great Indian Murder will premiere on Disney+ Hotstar on February 4. The series will be available to stream in Hindi, Marathi, Tamil, Telugu, Kannada, Malayalam, and Bengali.
