Thalapathy Vijay, sporting a clean-shaven look, took the selfie capturing the sea of fans, who thronged the sets of The Greatest Of All Time in Chennai.
Thalapathy Vijay broke the internet once again on Wednesday with a group selfie with fans who thronged the sets of his upcoming movie The Greatest Of All Time in Chennai. Vijay, sporting a clean-shaven look, took the selfie capturing the sea of people, who crammed themselves within narrow lanes of a street to catch a glimpse of him.
The selfie was shared by Vijay's manager Jagadish on Twitter and is going viral on the internet.
It's noteworthy that in 2020, Vijay created a social media sensation by sharing a selfie taken with his fans during the filming of his movie Master in Neyveli. This gesture was perceived as a display of strength, especially as the superstar was under scrutiny from the income tax department. It served as Vijay's way of reassuring his fans that the ongoing investigations were not affecting him.
However, unlike before, Vijay has not posted the latest selfie on his account. Maybe the impact of the picture could potentially have been more louder, if it orginated from his social media account.
It's no secret that Vijay has stopped engaging with the media for nearly a decade now. And he rarely shares something on social media platforms. The only time fans get to hear Vijay say something is when he makes speeches during the pre-release events of his new movies. Such controlled public exposure has only heightened the appeal of his stardom.
On the career front, Vijay scored the biggest hit in his career with Leo last year. The film raked in more than Rs 600 crore from its worldwide ticket sales, setting a new box office benchmark for the Tamil film industry.
In the meantime, he's busy with The Greatest Of All Time, which is written and directed by Venkat Prabhu. Speculations are rife about this film being a remake of the Hollywood movie Gemini Man. However, the filmmakers have not issued an official clarification on the same yet.
The Greatest Of All Time stars Vijay in a double role and it also has Prabhudeva, Meenakshi Chaudhary, Prasanth, Laila, Mohan, Jayaram, Ajmal Amir, Yogi Babu, and VTV Ganesh in the supporting cast.
The Greatest Of All Time is expected to hit the screens worldwide in June this year. An official word on the same is awaited.
