If you have watched Dev Patel's film, Monkey Man this year, and already loved it, we bet you would love to watch the adventure-horror drama, The Green Knight as well.. The American actor, with Indian origin, Dev Patel, made his acting debut with Slumdog Millionaire in 2008, and now, decades later he made his directorial debut with the action-thriller, Monkey Man in 2024. However, after making waves in the West in 2021, The Green Knight is ready to make its India debut through Lionsgate Play.
Starring Dev Patel, Saltburn-fame Barry Keoghan, Alicia Vikander, Erin Kellyman, Sean Harris, Ralph Ineson, and Joel Edgerton, the adventure-horror film, The Green Knight is coming soon on September 27, 2024, only on Lionsgate Play. You can also watch the film through OTTplay Premium.
In a tale of valour and honour, Sir Gawain (Dev Patel), the brave and chivalrous nephew of King Arthur (Sean Harris), undertakes a dangerous journey to confront the enigmatic Green Knight (Ralph Ineson), a formidable giant, who has been issued with a daunting challenge.
As Gawain ventures forth, he must confront a multitude of dangers, including vengeful ghosts, cunning thieves, and fearsome giants, testing his courage and unwavering dedication to his quest. With his unshakeable resolve and unyielding sense of justice, Gawain faces his greatest challenges yet, ready to prove his worth as a true Knight of the Round Table.
Back in 2021, in an interview, lead actor Dev Patel shared his amazing experience working in The Green Knight, and also shared some insights about the film before its release.
Dev said, “Gawain is sort of this spoiled brat, and I told David before I signed on that if we're going to go on this extraordinary journey with him, amid sparse dialogue and many instances of questionable behaviour, there has to be something that makes you root for him through this adversity. This young man sets out across harsh terrain, and it's a trial by nature in so many ways. He comes across life and all its ferocity scavengers, a damsel in distress, a beautiful woman who tempts him, and you realise how naive he is as a young man, despite or perhaps because of his privileged origins.”
