The Western is a story of vengeance in the heart. The movie follows Nat Love, who rounds up his crew ready for a fight as he learns that his nemesis, Rufus Buck is being released from prison. Buck on the other hand has his own set of people who are ready to have his back. The two groups will go head to head as they look to fight it out for blood.

Who is in the cast of The Harder They Fall?

The Harder They Fall is one of the few Westerns that has an all Black cast as its principal cast. The movie is led by Jonathan Majors who plays Nat Love and Idris Elba who plays Rufus Buck. 

Regina King, Zazie Beetz, Delroy Lindo, Lakeith Stanfield, Danielle Deadwyler, Edi Gathegi, Deon Cole, RJ Cyler and Damon Wayans Jr. are other members of the ensemble cast.

The Harder They Fall has a screenplay co-written by Jeymes Samuel and Boaz Yakin and is directed by Samuel. Sean Bobbitt and Mihai Mălaimare Jr. have handled the cinematography. 

Is The Harder They Fall based on a real story?

While the story of the movie in itself is fictionalized, the characters in the movie are based on real life historical figures such as real cowboys, lawmen and outlaws of the 19th-century American West. 

Rufus Buck was a real life gang leader who committed horrible crimes across the vast wild west during the 19th century. Nat Love was a cowboy who retired to be a train porter. Other characters are also based on real life historical figures. 

When and where does The Harder They Fall release?

The Western which has been making waves premiered at the BFI London Film Festival on October 6, 2021. The movie comes to Netflix on November 3.
