But did you know despite such low collection, The Hunger Games whole film series is has grossed alm $3 billion worldwide? The financial performance of the 4 films in the franchise followed a downward trajectory, with the exception of a brief resurgence between the first and second installments. Each subsequent film grossed less than its predecessor, culminating in The Hunger Games: Mockingjay Part 2, which even underperformed the initial film. Similarly, the critical reception and audience ratings exhibited a comparable decline, with the sole exception of an improvement between the first and second films. This pattern raises concerns about the viability of reviving The Hunger Games franchise, particularly in the current climate of 2023, where older franchises, cash grabs, nostalgic reboots, and prequels often face significant challenges.
