The Immortal Ashwatthama update: Aditya Dhar halts pre-production after Vicky Kaushal's exit?

The much-in-news The Immortal Ashwatthama might not see the light of the day anytime soon. Aditya Dhar appears to have halted the pre-production of the movie right after Vicky Kaushal was announced as the lead actor on the movie. It was then reported that Vicky was no longer a part of the film and many were being approached for the project.

Now, according to the latest buzz on PeepingMoon, The Immortal Ashwatthama is on the backburner. The project has come to a halt since director Aditya Dhar stopped the pre-production.

A source told the portal that Aditya and the producers Jio Studios decided that The Immortal Ashwatthama will be put to a halt after a massive budget demand. Aditya wants to make the movie on a huge scale but Jio might not be ready to take such a huge risk given the volatile market.

“Aditya has realized the risk involved with this project and has halted its pre-production work. The crew involved with this film has also been relieved now,” the source was quoted saying.

We hear that Aditya will make the project because it is his dream project. However, the circumstances aren’t right at this point and thus, he decided to put the film on a hold. The Immortal Ashwatthama is a science fiction film and thus, the cost comes accordingly.

Reportedly, various superstars were approached with the project. Some names include Yash, Jr. NTR and Allu Arjun.

The project was also reported to have been offered to Ranveer Singh. However, a source close to the development told OTTplay that Ranveer was in fact never approached for The Immortal Ashwatthama.
