Vicky Kaushal and Sara Ali Khan starrer The Immortal Ashwatthama is delayed. Sadly, on Sunday, the producer of the highly-anticipated film, Ronnie Screwvala revealed in a statement that due to the budget issues, the project needs to be put on the back burner for another six to nine months. The filmmaker also said that the decision has been made with a mutual agreement between him, director Aditya Dhar and Vicky.

According to a report by Pinkvilla, Ronnie also mentioned that the leading lady of the film, Sara also agreed to the same.

Reportedly, the leading jodi of the film is getting trained in sword-fighting, spear-fighting, martial arts, MMA and more for their hardcore action sequences in The Immortal Ashwatthama.

Dhar shared a few posters of the modern-day superhero film earlier this year in January. In one of the Instagram posts, the director revealed that the film has high-concept visuals and mentioned that it will raise the bar of the superhero genre across the world.

Furthermore, the source mentioned that the pre-production work had already started when the makers realized that the budget is putting a lot of pressure on the film to deliver at the box office. “The estimated budget, even before a single scene was shot, came in the range of Rs 300 crore,” the source revealed.
