The big Deepavali release is, undoubtedly, Salman Khan’s Tiger 3, but that team is so confident of the film’s good showing at the box office that it is foregoing a Friday release and hitting theatres on November 12, Sunday, only. This means that a few other films have a two-day head-start, which they can, hopefully, capitalize on, even after Tiger 3 joins the race. Tiger 3 is not releasing with a Kannada version and neither is Karthi’s Japan. Here’s a look at the Kannada theatrical releases and the other language films that are available with dubbed versions on OTT.

Garadi Yogaraj Bhat Yashas Surya, Sonal Monteiro Theatre November 10
Vasanthakalada Hoogalu Sachin Shetty Sachin Rathod, Radha Bhagavathy Theatre November 10
Royal Mech Nagabhooshan & Dr Jayadev Dhanush, Shravya Rao Theatre November 10
Valatty Devan Jayakumar Roshan Mathew, Soubin Shahir Disney+Hotstar November 7
Irugapatru Yuvaraj Dhayalan Shraddha Srinath, Vikram Prabhu Netflix November 6

Yogaraj Bhat’s new film unfolds against the local wrestling tradition. Producer-actor BC Patil is Rangappa, whose students played Yashas Surya and Sujay Belur are at loggerheads. There’s a love angle too, with Sonal Monteiro the romantic interest in the tale, opposite Yashas. P Ravishankar plays a pivotal role, while Nishvika Naidu, who had a cameo in Yogaraj’s Gaalipata 2, has a special number. The film also features Challenging Star Darshan in a special role.

Vasanthakalada Hoogalu

Written and directed by Sachin Shetty, Vasanthakalada Hoogalu is the launchpad of Sachin Rathod, who plays the protagonist Surya. He falls in love with Suma (Radha Bhagavathy), his classmate and all is well, until Surya gets caught in the cross-hairs of the local MLA’s henchmen. Can Surya find a way out of this? The film also stars Ramesh Rai Kukkuvalli and Gururaj Shetty, among others.

Royal Mech

Debutant Dhanush plays an engineering graduate and Civil Services aspirant, who is forced to work as a food delivery agent owing to the circumstances in his life. Whether or not he manages to overcome these hurdles and fulfil his dream forms the crux of the story. The film also stars Shravya Rao, Vinaya Prasad, Raghavendra Rajkumar, Ramesh Bhat and Kuri Pratap among others.

Writer-director Devan Jayakumar’s film about two dogs belonging to different breeds falling and love and running away when their ‘parents’ disapprove of their relationship, had the who’s who of the Malayalam film industry lending their voices to the different furry characters. From Roshan Mathew to Soubin Shahir, Aju Varghese, Saiju Kurup, Sunny Wayne, Indrans, among many others, could be heard in the original. The film has now dropped on OTT and is available to stream in Kannada too.

This romantic drama directed by Yuvaraj Dhayalan follows three couples of different age, social and economic backdrops, who seek to work on their relationships with therapy. The film stars Shraddha Srinath, Vikram Prabhu, Vidaarth, Abarnathi, Sri and Saniya Iyappan, among others. The Tamil original film is now available to stream with Kannada audio.
