From a social drama to a couple of crime thrillers and an adult comedy, check out the Kannada films that are releasing on September 22

After an exciting week in which a couple of much-awaited Kannada originals dropped on OTT, and several dubbed titles also came, this week is looking a tad dull for audiences here. There are no major OTT premieres lined up, at least not with official announcements, and the theatricals too are not too confidence inspiring. However, if you still fancy a trip to the movie halls this week, here’s what’s in store.

Digvijaya
Only a month after Naveen Shankar’s Kshetrapathi, which had the tagline the ‘Right Fight for the Right’, explored the issues plaguing farmers and the necessity to step up and fight for what is rightfully theirs, yet another film follows a similar plot line and tagline too. Divijay, which stars Jayaprabhu Lingayath, Sneha Khatri, Honnavalli Krishna, Killer Venkatesh and Suchendra Prasad, among others, in pivotal roles, has a tagline that reads, ‘The Right Fight’ and is also about the agrarian crisis.
Parishuddham
Directed by Aaron Karthik Venkatesh, Parishuddham is a crime thriller that follows the exploits of a serial killer, who is on a social-purification spree. The killer has a code that emphasizes the divinity of marriage. Starring Archana Pillegowda, Neethu, Sparsha Rekha, Bhargav BV, Rohan Kidiyoor and Raaj Charan Bhramavar, among others.
Dvandva
Director Bharath L’s thriller follows a girl with photographic memory and the trouble her special skill lands her in when she was the wrong place at the wrong time. The film has Tilak, Shobaraj, Anitha Bhat, Bala Rajawadi, Nayana Raj and Asiya Firdose, among others. on the cast.
Bun Tea
A pair of siblings, one 14 and the other 10 years old, reside in a poverty-stricken neighbourhood. The younger sibling goes to a government school, but desires to enrol in a private school. Can the family fulfil his wish? Directed by editor-turned-filmmaker Uday Kumar, stars a bunch of newcomers.
Honeymoon in Bangkok
Bigg Boss Kannada OTT season 1 contestant Uday Surya leads the cast of this film directed by BS Sanjay. The film, as the title suggests, is an adult comedy about fun times in Bangkok. Also on the cast are Vijay Chendoor, Anu Gowda, Preksha Rao and Ananya Dey.
