The Kapil Sharma Show: Archana Puran Singh confirms Sumona’s return; reveals her avatar will be very different

Earlier this year, The Kapil Sharma Show went off air as the comedian wanted to take a break to spend quality time at home with his wife, daughter and newborn son. Well, last month Kapil along with his co-stars Krushna Abhishek, Chandan Prabhakar, Sudesh Lehri, Bharti Singh, Kiku Sharda and Archana Puran Singh announced that they are all set to return to our screens with a new season. However, fans were disheartened to see that Sumona Chakravarti was missing from the BTS snaps as well as the first promo.

The actress also shared a cryptic post recently which hinted that she will not be coming back for the new season. However, in a recent interview with Aaj Tak, Archana clarified that fans are in for a surprise. She revealed, “If you think that Sumona is not in the show, then you are going to get a surprise soon. There is Sumona in the show but her avatar will be very different, but we will have the same lovely Sumona.”

Sumona won our hearts with her portrayal of the character Bhoori in the show. Well, we are sure fans will be ecstatic to hear this news. Talking about the new addition to the team, Archana stated that other than Sudesh, the rest of the cast remains the same. However the set on the show is new and we will also see Kapil Sharma's family extension.

The Kapil Sharma Show will return to our television screens on 21^st August.
