The Kapil Sharma Show is in the news again. This time, it is because another comic artist has decided to quit the show over monetary issues.
Various reports have surfaced on the internet about one of the comedians, Sidharth Sagar. Sources close to ETimes TV informed that Sidharth has quit the show.
He is known for playing different characters in the show like Selfie Mausi, Ustaad Gharchordas, Funveer Singh (Ranveer Singh's mimic) and Sagar Pagletu. Out of them, Selfie Mausi is the most popular.
The little birdie revealed that the real reason behind his decision is monetary issues. Sidharth appears to have had a fallout with the producers of the show after a salary re-negotiation.
Sidharth wanted a hike in his fees but the makers are not willing to pay his desired amount. Thus, the comedian has decided to leave the show and go back to his hometown Delhi.
However, the artist was in no mood to confirm the news. Rather, they refused to comment on the matter directly.
When the publication tried to reach out to the talent, Sidharth said that there were no such thing happening. He added that he is in talks with the makers to resolve the matter.
Many talents in the last seven seasons have quit the show. While Krushna Abhishek and Chandan Prabhakar are latest, Bharti Singh, Sunil Grover, Ali Asgar and Upasna Singh have quit the show mid-way or discontinued their services after a season’s end, in the past.
Sidharth Sagar made his TV debut at the age of 13 with Comedy Circus - Chinchpokli To China (2009). Since then, he has been performing in various comedy shows and has worked closely with Kapil Sharma.
The Kapil Sharma Show, which was launched in 2016, is one of the most loved comedy shows on Indian Television. It currently stars Kapil Sharma, Sumona Chakravarti, Kiku Sharda and Rajiv Thakur amongst others.
