The Kashmir Files broke the Rs 20 crore nett barrier for the first time on Saturday, grossing Rs 24.50 crore nett for a total of Rs 140 crore nett. The film is an unstoppable juggernaut at the box office, with Sunday's advance screenings nearly sold out.

As per Box Office India, the film may have a capacity issue at multiplexes, which is where the majority of the business is generated. On its second Sunday, Bahubali 2: The Conclusion grossed almost Rs 35 crore nett, but this film is unlikely to reach that level due to competition from a huge release like Bachchhan Paandey. The upside is that, because Sunday is nearly sold out, the spillover will go to Monday, ensuring a strong Monday for the film.

The Kashmir Files is now the highest-grossing film in East Punjab following the epidemic, with Delhi/UP and other circuits to follow in due time. The only number that poses a small challenge in the Mumbai circuit is the Sooryavanshi number, which is certain to show the biggest receipts following the pandemic in the other circuits.

The film's second weekend is likely to be the second or third highest in history. After Bahubali 2: The Conclusion, Dangal holds the second-best total at 73 crore nett approx., and The Kashmir Files has a chance to beat it. It's worth noting that Baahubali 2: The Conclusion and Dangal had no competition in their second weekends, whereas The Kashmir Files had a huge release in the form of Bachchhan Paandey

The Kashmir Files have amassed the following collections to date:

First Week: Rs 96.14 crore

Friday - Rs 19.50 crore approx.

Saturday - Rs 24.50 crore approx.

Second Weekend - Rs 44 crore approx.

Total: Rs 140.14 crore approx.

As per trade analyst Taran Adarsh, it's a ONE-HORSE RACE in The Kashmir Files... Day 9 [Saturday] is the highest of the eight days. Weekend 2 is trending, just like Baahubali 2. Today [Day 10], there's a good chance of topping Rs 28 crore to Rs 30 crore. [2nd Week] Friday's take was Rs 19.15 crore, and Saturday's take was Rs 24.80 crore. In total, business in India totalled Rs 141.25 crore.

Mithun Chakraborty, Anupam Kher, Darshan Kumaar, Pallavi Joshi, and Chinmay Mandlekar star in the exodus drama, written and directed by Vivek Ranjan Agnihotri.
