Vivek Agnihotri directorial The Kashmir Files continues its fantastic run at the box office even after more than two weeks of its release. The film has managed to cross the Rs 250 crore mark at the global box office on Sunday. Based on the exodus of Kashmiri Pandits from the Kashmir vallery back in the 90s, the film witnessed a jump of Rs 2.75 crore from its Friday figures (Rs 4.50 crore), making the box office collection in India stand at Rs 7.25 crore on day 16.
The helmer Vivek Agnihotri took to his social media handles to share a poster of the film which informed that the film has managed to mint a total of Rs 252.45 crore worldwide. The movie is also likely to cross the Rs 225 crore mark on home box office on the third Sunday of its release.
Trade analyst Taran Adarsh took to his Twitter account to inform about the same and tweeted that the film is back in the running on its third Saturday despite facing tough competition from the SS Rajamouli directorial RRR which released this Friday.
A report on Boxofficeindia.com suggests that despite the competition from RRR, The Kashmir Files can still do a Rs 35 crore+ nett in the third week of its release. As of Saturday, the film has collected around Rs 217.50 nett at the box office in India and should comfortably cross the Rs 225 crore mark after its third weekend.
The Kashmir Files stars Anupam Kher, Darshan Kumar, Mithin Chakraborty and Pallavi Joshi among others. The movie has been riding high on word of mouth from the audiences and that has resulted in increased and continued footfalls for the movie in theatres. It has even been declared tx free in the states of Madhya Pradesh, Haryana, Goa, Tripura, Uttar Pradesh and Uttarakhand.
