Director Vivek Ranjan Agnihotri and actress & film producer Pallavi Joshi, who recently embarked on a Humanity Tour, after the release of their film, The Kashmir Files, are ringing in their 25th wedding anniversary today. The director shared a picture of them holding hands and walking ahead on his social media handle, and captioned it, 25 years.
The director had earlier stated that he was on a Humanity Tour to Europe to spread awareness about genocide and terrorism. Taking to his social media handle, he had written a month ago,"Off to a month long #HumanityTour of Europe to spread awareness about the problems of Genocide & Terrorism and how Indic Principles of Humanity can solve this biggest threat of the modern world. #HumanityTour (sic)." The tour began on May 28 and ended on June 26. During the tour, he recently met Annika Klose, Member of Parliament, Berlin, SPD party at the German Parliament in Berlin.
Agnihotri's latest release, The Kashmir Files, which hit screens in March, revolves around the exodus of Kashmiri Pandits from the Kashmir Valley. The star cast for the film comprises Mithun Chakraborty, Anupam Kher, and Pallavi Joshi. Though the film emerged as a huge hit at the box office (going on to become one of the highest grossers in Hindi cinema in 2022), it received mixed reviews from the critics and audience. While a section of the audience lauded the film for throwing light on the Kashmiri exodus, others panned it as they said that the depiction of the exodus, in it was factually inaccurate. Theatres in the country, also witnessed hate speech against a minority community, during the screening.
Music for the film was by Rohit Sharma and Swapnil Bandodkar. The portions were largely shot around Dehradun, Mussoorie and Kashmir. Though the shoot was wrapped up earlier, the release got delayed due to the pandemic. And on its release, the film clashed with Akshay Kumar's Bachchan Pandey.
